Prof. LIU Yueming presented a short video to give a brief introduction of Confucius Institute.

  1. Established by signing an MOU between Tribhuvan University (TU) and East China University of Technology (ECUT), Confucius Institute is one of the strategies of Chinese University to internalize its teaching and research standards.
  2. Located inside the Central office of TU
  3. Works as a non-profit education institute that helps in promoting Chinese language and culture, facilitate Cultural exchanges, etc.

Research Director of SRDC, Dr. Bhupati Neupane presented the “Collaboration Proposal”. Starting with the brief introduction of the SEC and SCST college, he ended his presentation with the SRDC policy, Expectations, Research Collaboration priorities, and the benefits the collaborating parties get from the international collaborations.

 The main objective for the Collaboration is to provide opportunities for students, faculties, and staff members  through international experience. After the presentation, both the parties discussed different practicable options to drive the collaboration. Study abroad programs, exchange programs like summer camp, duality in Bachelor degree, virtual online discussion, research opportunities, and cultural awareness to name a few. With the positive response from each party for the collaboration, the meeting ended with the exchange of “Token of Love” and finally, the group photo.

 The prospects of the collaboration are exciting. However, there is still a long way to go from finding funding partners, signing agreements to managing the expectations of stakeholders involved in between.
