Two students (Sanskriti Shrestha and Eliza Sharma) from Sagarmatha Engineering College and four students (Ali Raza, Grete Vaatman, Kristina Eder and Vilja Halme) from 𝐀𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐨 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 under the mentorship of Julia Sundman and Anup Shrestha are working together on a collaborative project under Aalto Universities Sustainable Global Technology Studio Course. The project aims at understanding, and improving the hygiene status in Nepalese communities in Devchuli Municipality. The study contributes to the baseline study for the project Climate SMART WASH. The Climate SMART WASH project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Finland and the monitoring and implementation of the project is being done by Water Finns and CATN respectively. After the field visit, the students presented their initial findings at Sagarmatha Engineering College. SEC will be collaborating with Aalto in this project for coming years to improve water supply and sanitation in the project area.
