Education:

  • Utah State University, Logan, 2025
MS, Civil and Environmental Engineering (Water Resources/Hydrology)
  • Tribhuvan University, Nepal, 2017
MS, Applied Science (Climate Change and Development)
  • Tribhuvan University, Nepal, 2014
    BE, Civil Engineering

Professional Experience

  • Utah Water Research Laboratory, Utah State university      (Jan. 2022 – Feb. 2025)
    Graduate Research Assistant

    • Investigated the change in hydroclimatic processes within the Great Salt Lake (GSL) basin using gridded
precipitation, air temperature and evapotranspiration, streamflow, and reservoir storage datasets.
    • Estimated land cover change in the GSL basin using a remotely sensed raster map and evaluated change in water
yield and evapotranspiration due to change in land cover in the basin.
    • Automation in ArcGIS using Python scripting, enabling efficient processing for multiple iterations over the 3
      subbasins within the GSL basin.
    • Redesigned and updated the Python-based API of the “ClimateEngine” to automate the retrieval of available
climate data using points and polygons, eliminating the need for manual data extraction.
    • Teaching assistant for the course “Applying Geographic Information Systems for Terrain and Watershed Analysis
      in Hydrology”
  • Sagarmatha Engineering College – Nepal      (Nov. 2015 – Aug. 2021)
Head of Civil Engineering Department/ Senior Lecturer (after subsequent promotions)
              ▪ Administrative Responsibilities

    • Developed strategic plans, budgets, enforced policies and coordinated with university administration to
maintain efficient department operations, and compliance with institutional guidelines.
    • Led faculty recruitment, performance evaluations, workload allocation, and laboratories and student/teacher
training managements that helps to ensure department has qualified faculty, fair distribution of teaching
responsibilities, and support student success maintaining high academic standards.
      ▪ Academic Responsibilities.
    • Lecturer for undergraduate courses in Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics, Hydrology and Land surveying, teaching
classes of over 45 students, and conducted laboratory sessions for these subjects.
    • Tutored AutoCAD, ArcGIS and Microsoft Office to undergraduate students, enabling them to work
autonomously on drafting, design, model and create documents, spread-sheets and presentations.
    • Organized and instructed multiple 12-day survey camps as a part of coursework, covering
topographic, road, and bridge alignment surveys. Taught students to use tools such as total stations,
theodolites, and auto levels, assisted with field data organization, and guided students in plotting
      results using SW-DTM and ArcGIS.
    • Instructed students in river flow measurement using flowmeters and salt dilution method as a part of
      the Hydrology coursework.
  • Association of Rural Development (ARD Kavre)-Nepal      (Nov 2013 – Jan 2015)
    Civil Engineer
