Mr. Spad Acharya is a highly qualified and experienced mechanical engineer with a passion for teaching. He has over 7 years of experience in the field of engineering education. Mr. Acharya holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Systems Design and Engineering from the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Pulchowk Campus, Lalitpur, which he completed in December 2022. His master’s thesis focused on the unsteady numerical analysis of transonic buffeting over a supercritical airfoil.

Prior to his master’s degree, Mr. Acharya obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from IOE, Pulchowk Campus in September 2016. During his undergraduate studies, he worked on a major project that involved developing a take-off and landing performance calculation tool for domestic aircrafts in Nepal. This project aimed to facilitate operators and aviation service providers with a means to estimate operational requirements and performance data for safe take-off and landing operations.

Mr. Acharya has gained valuable experience in academia, having worked as a Senior Lecturer at Sagarmatha Engineering College in Sanepa, Lalitpur from November 2019 to November 2022. He taught courses such as Engineering Drawing I & II, Thermodynamics, and Workshop Technology. Prior to that, he served as a Lecturer at the same college from May 2017 to November 2019, teaching similar courses. Before joining Sagarmatha Engineering College, Mr. Acharya worked as an Assistant Lecturer at Janakpur Engineering College in Tathali, Bhaktapur.

Mr. Acharya possesses strong computer skills, including proficiency in software such as Maple, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks. He also has basic knowledge in programming languages such as C, MATLAB, and Python. His research work involved using computational methods and tools such as MATLAB, Python, OpenFOAM and XFLR5.
